LIPTON YOUTH SOCCER LEAGUE
GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
February 9, 2000

Meeting called to order by President Giuliano 8:00pm at the Lyndhurst Polish American Hall. Reading of minutes from previous meeting, no additions, deletions or corrections. Motion Pascack, second Meadowlands U. to approve, all in favor.

Call of roll for delegates: Absent - Hoboken, Hornets, Olympic, Silver Lake, Woodcliff Lake; Excused-Lodi.

President's Report -- Frank spoke on attendance at meetings. Since only 6 or 7 meetings per year are mandatory, all absentees will be fined $100 per occasion. It is not too much to ask for delegates or their alternates to attend, since important decisions are being made all the time. This information is then to be passed on to your clubs so that they stay informed, eliminating mixups, and misunderstandings.

There are still a few clubs that owe monies to the league. Even though your club will be in the schedules that are being prepared after this meeting, you will not be allowed to play if your money has not been sent to the treasurer by March 1. Teams that still the league monies will then be suspended (not in good standing) and the state will be notified. The league secretary is coordinating all matters with the treasurer, they are the only ones to be contacted to clear up these matters.

All results will be submitted by site coordinators to the MetroStars for final tally, and notifications to the successful participants who move on, will be made by them.

LYSL day this year will be held on June 17 for girls and boys Division 1 and 2 finals. The games will be held after the MetroStars home game. At the April delegates meeting, tee shirts and ticket vouchers will be issued to the clubs for all players who have participated in the program. Remember it is mandatory that all players registered must participate. It is the responsibility of the individual clubs to collect the monies from their respective players, and turn in the money to Frank.

The METRO CUP committee has been formed for 2000 season and meetings will be held the first Monday of each month at 8pm, Wayne PAL. All volunteers should attend.

Vice President's Report -- Charlie advised that if your club does not have their tickets, need more tickets, or wish to sell some of the ones you have, call him. We must have an accurate count of the people coming one week before the dinner. In past years we have been paying for people who do not show yet have confirmed that they are coming. LYSL funds are needlessly being paid to the caterer when they should remain in the league for the kids.

Saturday March 18th at the Wayne Manor - Cocktail Hour 7pm with dinner @ 8pm.

Treasurer's Report -- Patricia reports opening balance of $75,718.67, expenses of 1,145.79, deposits of 1,100.00 leaving ending balance $75,672.84.

Approved by acclamation. Patricia and secretary will be coordinating collecting of monies due LYSL..

Registrars Report -- Ernesto advised that all who need passes or to register teams for upcoming season, call him for an appointment.

Games Chairman (Girls) Report -- Ken distributed girls flights. After discussion flights finalized. Schedules to be made and posted on web site.

Games Chairman (Boys) Report -- Kevin distributed boys flights. After discussion flights finalized. Schedules to be made and posted on web site.

Motion Paramus, second Pascack to accept flights as finalized, schedules to be made, no changes. All in favor, motion passed.

Fair Play Committee -- Cosmo distributed a memo to all citing ever increasing work load, and he feels that he is unable to do a good job without help. He submitted a proposal that a list be prepared with volunteers and that on a rotating basis, the volunteers be assigned to cover games and that they be reimbursed for their travel expenses. This proposal will be taken up at an executive board meeting.
