Referee Assignment Procedure

Referee Assignors will assign referees as needed. Fields with multiple games will have consideration over games that might only have one game being played. Referees will be assigned to fields and will officiate the number of games assigned to by the assignor.

The referee assignor will assign referees on each Wednesday. The assigned referee will contact the delegate of the home team no later then 8 PM on Friday evening. The delegate must get the name, phone number and games the referee will be officiating. The delegate must at this time confirm the game times and field. If no referee contacts the delegate, then, the delegate must contact the assignor to see if a referee has been assigned. If a referee has been assigned then the delegate will be given the name and phone number to the referee so contact can be made. If there is no referee for the game: the delegate will be told by the assignor to use a licensed referee from his or her club or town.

If a referee is assigned but fails to show up for a game the following process will occur:

1. A licensed referee from the visiting team if present will officiate the game.

If this cannot occur:

2. A licensed referee from the home team if present will officiate the game.

If this cannot occur:

3. A volunteer from the visiting team can be asked to officiate the game. This person must officiate the entire match and the game is official and the results are final.

If this cannot occur:

4. A volunteer from the home team must officiate the game. This person must officiate the entire match and the game is official and the results are final.

The delegate of the home team must notify the referee assignor that no referee showed up for the game. It should also be noted that there was no referee when the game scores are called in to the Games Chairpersons.
